Get Started

  • Open the github page through the link provided above.
  • In the releases section, click the latest release.
  • Click the first asset to download the installer for the runtime.
  • Or you can choose another asset which would require you to unzip it first.
  • Run the installer and wait for the installation to finish.
  • You can choose to run the interpreter at the end of the installation to see if the installation was successful or run the are command in your preferred terminal.

Run an Example Program

  • If you’re on windows, you can search for the installed interpreter in the start menu.
  • Right click on the app icon, and select open file location.
  • This will open an explorer window, so again right click on the interpreter’s icon and select open file location.
  • This will open the interpreters installation directory, open your preferred code editor with the examples directory that’s inside of the installation directory to view the example programs.
  • Double click or tap to the example program to run it.

Run your own Program

If you would like to start coding in AS, create a file ending with ‘.as’ and start coding. Double click or tap to run, or if you prefer the CLI, run are ./path/to/script.as

Note:

These installation instructions are for windows users only.
The ARE installer and the ARE itself are built only for windows, but we’ll get support for other platforms soon!

In this your github repository: GitHub - ECMA-King87/ArachnoScript-Programming-Language: A JavaScript-inspired programming language with a custom runtime and web tooling. · GitHub

you make big mistake your github repository licensed under MIT License while in your README.md you say that Commerical use of binaries is not allowed without author permission. While MIT license say that we can use the code in any way means we can modify the code distribute it and also we use the code commerically without the author permission means MIT give full freedom

oh! then which license should I use? Apache 2.0?

I say Gplv3 is best as it give benefit to both here are some major benefit of this license:

Benefits to the Author:

Your code stays free forever - no one can take it and make it private/proprietary
People must share any improvements they make to your code
You get protection from patent lawsuits related to your software
More people may contribute to improve your project

Benefits to Users:

You can use, modify, and share the software freely
If you improve it, you must share those improvements (keeps software getting better for everyone)
You’re protected from patent issues when using the software
You always have access to the source code, even for cloud/online versions
You can’t be blocked from using modified versions (unlike some hardware that locks down software)
In simple terms: The author shares their code openly, and in return, everyone who uses it must keep it open and free, creating a cycle of sharing that benefits the whole community.

How does it works means does it has its own compiler?

Or interpreter?

not yet, maybe by its version 1 release

interpreter. v0.3 will use VM. and have you tried it out?

If you send it codes means if you make posts like that: Python Image Resizer – Resize Without Quality Loss (Source Code Included)

this type of posts really helps to understand your programming language

ok, give name for my post then. i’m bad at naming

Any name you like this depend on what your post contains

Also use a name that may rank on Google and maybe your post become viral because all Buzzly posts auto index on Google

Ok, that’s cool

I’ve renamed it, have you checked the new repo? Once you have give your thoughts and feedback in the Discord Server for ArachnoScript

But dont change the name of github repository but i prefer you to add proper license + contribution.md so other people will contribute in your project also prefer my this github repository: GitHub - Haris16-code/BJH-OS: BJH OS - A Free Open Source Web Based Operating System developed using pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks, no backend dependencies. Based on the repository data, here’s what I found regarding the documentation and required files:

Documentation Status

README.md - :white_check_mark: Present and well-structured

  • Clear project description
  • Runtime/interpreter for ArachnoScript programming language
  • Links to macros documentation
  • Link to v0.2 documentation website

Missing Standard Documentation:

  • LICENSE - :cross_mark: Not found
  • CONTRIBUTING.md - :cross_mark: Not found

Repository Structure

The repository contains:

  • Source code in stdlib/ directory with various .as files
  • README.md with basic project information
  • Macros reference link (external)
  • Documentation website link (external)

Code Quality

The codebase appears to be functional with:

  • Standard library implementations (arrays, fs, io, math, numbers, objects, promise)
  • Runtime engine code
  • Macro system implementation
  • Basic console interface

Summary

This repository does NOT contain all required documentation. While it has a README.md and functional code, it’s missing:
